Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Vauxhall Pierce!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Antonio Marella!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, John Kavanagh and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pierce closes the distance and pushes Marella back into the cage.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Marella.
Pierce pulls Marella into guard.
Pierce on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Pierce tries to get out of the position.
Pierce looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Marella throwing strikes but missing.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Pierce holds on and takes a little breather.
Marella postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Pierce is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Marella is aware though and is defending well.
Marella trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Marella working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Pierce trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
Pierce working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Marella.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Pierce is looking to sinch up a triangle. Marella throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Pierce's body to avoid the submission. Pierce has instead reached around Marella's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Pierce arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
