PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Oskar Kokoshka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Mega (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kokoshka comes to the cage accompanied by Baba O'Riley. Mega has chosen Black and Yellow as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Oskar Kokoshka!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Max Mega!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Donatello Bradman and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mega misses with a series of wild punches.

Mega shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Kokoshka manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Mega sitting in guard, not really doing much.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Max Mega.

Mega throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Mega shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Kokoshka's guard.
Kokoshka is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Mega wants to control from the top but Kokoshka keeps moving.

Kokoshka is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Mega wants to pass the guard but Kokoshka is keeping the position.

Mega not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Kokoshka working for a triangle but Mega defends it easily.
Kokoshka can't keep his opponent in guard - Mega advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Kokoshka has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Mega is working away from the top position though.
Kokoshka is looking for a sweep. Mega is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Mega works his way into full mount!
Mega avoids the attempt from Kokoshka to control.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Kokoshka really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Kokoshka is in a horrible position here. Mega smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Kokoshka wants to hold on but Mega pushes him away.

Mega with shots to the head and body - Kokoshka looks very uncomfortable down there.
Kokoshka is working to get back to half guard.
Mega cracks Kokoshka with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Mega tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Let's hope that Mega has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Kokoshka is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Max Mega.
Kokoshka tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Mega manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kokoshka uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Mega.
Mega throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Kokoshka shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Mega pinned against the cage. Mega gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mega rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Kokoshka moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Kokoshka slips a jab and a cross from Mega.
Kokoshka throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Mega missing with a left hand there. Kokoshka was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Mega throws a right and a left that Kokoshka avoids nicely.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Kokoshka.
Kokoshka takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Mega throws a right hand that Kokoshka ducks under and follows up with a left that Kokoshka also avoids with ease.
Kokoshka throws a low kick but Mega avoids it.
Kokoshka takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Mega throws a series of punches but Kokoshka avoids them all with ease.

Oskar Kokoshka is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Mega dodges the punch combination from Kokoshka.
Mega throws a right hand that Kokoshka ducks under and follows up with a left that Kokoshka also avoids with ease.

Mega misses with a series of wild punches.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Kokoshka misses with a jab, cross combination.
Max Mega seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kokoshka is looking to clinch but Mega is avoiding it.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Kokoshka throws a leg kick but Mega sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Kokoshka fails in his attempt to clinch.

Max Mega showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Kokoshka is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.

Max Mega is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Max Mega comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Mega has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
