The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Robert Douchet and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maccarone misses the jab.
Sunshine blocks the body kick.
Sunshine looks to score with a jab to the body but Maccarone is just out of range.
A decent looking cross lands there for Sunshine.
It looks like Charlie Maccarone has been cut.
Maccarone ducks right into an uppercut from Sunshine.

and Maccarone counters with a nice low kick that buckles Sunshine's knee momentarily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Maccarone is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Sunshine looks to score with a jab to the body but Maccarone is just out of range.
Maccarone bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

A solid leg kick lands there for Maccarone.

Maccarone pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Maccarone lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.

Sunshine throws a hook but Maccarone avoids it easily.
Sunshine misses the shot to the body.
Maccarone slips a straight right by Sunshine.
Sunshine fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Maccarone manages to avoid it.

and Maccarone counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Maccarone moves out of range of the strikes.

Charlie Maccarone decided to call for a title shot in his post fight interview, which was very strange given the fact this fight was for a title and he's already the champion. I guess that's what getting punched in the head does for you.
