PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Biglang Liko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and JG Wentworth (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Liko kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Ilusyon. JG Wentworth told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are James Atkins, William Gold and Richard Clark.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Liko misses with a body shot.
Wentworth loads up on a big right hand but Liko slips the punch.

Liko drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Wentworth is trying to control Liko's posture but Liko avoids it.
Liko misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Wentworth tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Liko wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Wentworth tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Liko presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
Liko tries to control but Wentworth wriggling away.

Liko wants to finish this one by submission but Wentworth is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Liko.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wentworth is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Wentworth is desperately trying to improve his position but Liko has a good base and remains in mount.
Wentworth bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Wentworth can do anything to dispel that myth.

Wentworth tries to close the distance and clinch up but Liko swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Wentworth lands with a big right hook that stumbles Liko - he's out on his feet here! Wentworth follows up with another monster hook that separates Liko from consciousness! Liko falls, almost in slow motion to the canvas! Wentworth stands and admires his work as the crowd go wild.
