Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jackson Neptune! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dominic Romanelli! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Romanelli throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Neptune bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Dominic Romanelli seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Romanelli throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Romanelli drops Neptune with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Neptune looks back up at him and smiles so Romanelli waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Neptune is rocked! The fight moves into the clinch position. Oh Neptune is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Neptune tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Romanelli just stands there and leans against the cage. Neptune is trying to stall.
Romanelli wants to break free but Neptune has control.
Neptune is working for takedown but Romanelli is calmly controlling the position for now. Neptune seems to have got his legs back now. Romanelli wants to get back to striking at distance but Neptune won't allow it.

That's one minute gone in the round. A nice right hand lands inside from Romanelli. Romanelli is trying to break free. Neptune tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Romanelli just stands there and leans against the cage. Romanelli wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Neptune has him pressed against the cage. Neptune drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Romanelli gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Neptune stuffs the takedown. Romanelli lands a right hook to the body.
Neptune throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Romanelli takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Romanelli lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Neptune ducks under a wild hook from Romanelli. Romanelli comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Neptune is breathing heavily. Neptune is looking to clinch. Romanelli jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neptune looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Romanelli! This has been an exciting period of action! Romanelli throwing hammer fists to the chest of Neptune. What's that going to do exactly? Romanelli is looking to get to half guard. Romanelli is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Neptune unloads with some shots from mount but Romanelli bucks and avoids them well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Romanelli is in all sorts of trouble here.

Romanelli bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Romanelli is looking to work some ground and pound but Neptune has wrist control. Romanelli stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Neptune swivels though and keeps the full guard. Neptune looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Romanelli lands a couple of elbows. Romanelli thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Neptune wants to control but Romanelli passes easily into half guard.
Romanelli stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Romanelli closes the distance and clinches up with Neptune, looking for a takedown. Romanelli pushes Neptune against the cage but Neptune circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Neptune lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Neptune wants to clinch. Romanelli lands a lovely overhand right. Romanelli shoots in looking for a takedown. Neptune tries to sprawl out of it but Romanelli keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Neptune manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Romanelli takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Romanelli misses with a looping right. Romanelli throws a jab when Neptune was well out of range. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dominic Romanelli dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Neptune closes the distance and clinches. Romanelli tries to break the clinch but Neptune is controlling the position. Neptune manages to break the clinch.
Romanelli stuffs the takedown attempt from Neptune. Neptune gets slowly back to his feet. The fight stays on the outside here - Neptune looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Neptune misses with a wild combination.
Neptune scores with a nice head shot. Jackson Neptune is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Romanelli scores with a one two! Neptune had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. The fight stays on the outside here - Neptune looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Romanelli keeps the fight on the outside. A big left from Romanelli misses. A nice combination there by Neptune.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Romanelli fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Neptune manages to avoid it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Neptune lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Neptune. Neptune shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Romanelli counters with a lovely straight right hand! Romanelli throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Romanelli thuds his right hand into Neptune's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Romanelli closes this distance looking for a takedown but Neptune circles away. Neptune finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Romanelli slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. A cross from Romanelli lands. Some wild striking there from Romanelli.
Neptune doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Neptune walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. The fight stays on the outside here - Neptune looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Romanelli throws a shot to the body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Romanelli fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Neptune uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Romanelli.
Neptune darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Romanelli blocking the ground and pound attempt from Neptune. Romanelli is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Neptune is keen to just control but Romanelli is a slippery customer. Romanelli manages to get to full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Romanelli has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Neptune can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Neptune stopping the sweep attempt from Romanelli. Neptune wants to pass the guard but Romanelli is keeping the position. Romanelli keeping moving, preventing Neptune from controlling successfully.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Neptune prevents Romanelli from getting back to his feet. Romanelli looking for a triangle here. Neptune is fighting it but it looks tight! Romanelli pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Neptune is tapping out - this one is all over!
