Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Nishant Dere (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Derick Sprole (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Nishant Dere! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Derick Sprole! The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Luis Engracia and Alexandre Firmino.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dere shoots for a takedown but Sprole saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Dere scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Sprole tries to roll over but Dere keeps him under control. Sprole makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! Dere closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Sprole's guard. Dere stopping the sweep attempt from Sprole. Dere stops Sprole from standing up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sprole kicks Dere off and gets to his feet. Sprole throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Dere tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Sprole is in Dere's guard. Sprole stands and steps away. Dere gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Dere misses with a takedown and Sprole counters by moving into the clinch. Dere is pressed up against the cage. Sprole has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Dere down to the mat. Dere avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Sprole moves out of range as Dere throws a body kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dere shoots and misses and Sprole counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Sprole. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nishant Dere. That's going to take a lot out of him. Dere is breathing heavily. Sprole pulls Dere into guard.
Sprole has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Dere wants to pass the guard but Sprole is keeping the position.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Crunch! Dere slams his shin into Sprole's torso. Nishant Dere seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sprole feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Sprole must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Sprole wants to control from the top but Dere keeps moving. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Sprole accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Sprole throws an elbow that misses. Dere uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Sprole's guard. Nice move by Dere! Dere looking to pass the guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sprole has control of Dere's left arm, preventing Dere from doing any damage.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Derick Sprole. A momentary lapse in concentration from Dere enables Sprole to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Dere manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Sprole tries to free his leg and advance position but Dere is retaining full guard. Dere controls Sprole momentarily but Sprole frees himself. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Sprole wants to control from the top but Dere keeps moving. Dere preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Derick Sprole dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Sprole gets a double leg takedown into Dere's guard. Sprole trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Sprole's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Sprole with a nice head shot there. Dere trying to control the position.
Sprole content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Dere will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Sprole in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Sprole wants to control from the top but Dere keeps moving. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Sprole scoring with punches to the head and body. Derick Sprole has got the better of the ground game so far. Dere wants to stand up but Sprole is controlling him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sprole working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Sprole trying to control the position from guard on top but Dere is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Sprole landing some decent shots from guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sprole lands a couple of elbows. Sprole scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Sprole stopping the sweep attempt from Dere. Sprole drops back looking for a leg! Dere is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Dere manages to kick Sprole off! Sprole jumps back into Dere's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sprole stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Dere swivels though and keeps the full guard. Sprole trying to control the position from guard on top but Dere is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Sprole works over Dere with some ground and pound from guard. Sprole throws a big right hand that misses. Sprole postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Sprole with a nice head shot there. Sprole landing with the ground and pound. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sprole is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Sprole makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Sprole content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Sprole wants to control from the top but Dere keeps moving. Sprole lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Sprole lands a couple of elbows. Sprole scoring with some ground and pound. Sprole is in close to Dere's body, working some short punches and elbows. Sprole landing some decent shots from guard. Dere can't keep his opponent in guard - Sprole advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sprole prevents Dere from improving his position. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Sprole throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Sprole looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Dere with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Sprole is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Dere really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Sprole wants to pass to mount but Dere is defending the position. Dere blocking the ground and pound attempt from Sprole. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Derick Sprole showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Nishant Dere has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Sprole throws a leg kick but Dere moved away. Dere shoots in looking for a takedown. Sprole tries to sprawl out of it but Dere keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Sprole manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Dere gets caught napping as Sprole dives in and scores a takedown. Dere manages to retain guard. Sprole landing with the ground and pound. Sprole chips away with some ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dere has momentary wrist control but Sprole slips an elbow through the middle. Sprole wants to control from the top but Dere keeps moving. Dere is looking to stand up but Sprole isn't so interested in that idea. Sprole landing with the ground and pound. Sprole stands up over Dere, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Dere is looking to stand up but Sprole isn't so interested in that idea. Sprole makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Dere is trying to control the position but Sprole postures up. Dere is looking to stand back up but Sprole counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Dere. Sprole drops an elbow to the side of Dere's head. Sprole working Dere over with strikes. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Sprole lands a nice short elbow. Derick Sprole is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Still in half guard, Sprole seems content to control. Dere has hold of Sprole's hands but Sprole slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Sprole slows the pace down in half guard. Sprole scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Sprole has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sprole seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Dere is refusing to be controlled, as Sprole sits in half guard. Sprole working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Sprole winds up and cracks Dere with a swinging punch to the side of the head. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Sprole is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Nishant Dere has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
And that's the end of the fight! Derick Sprole comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Sprole has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
