Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Smith!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Elliott Stanley!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Lou da Vinci and Jorge Garcia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith shoots in looking for a takedown but Stanley manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Smith's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

and Stanley counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Stanley jumps guard but Smith turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Smith tries to break the clinch but Stanley is controlling the position.

Smith is trying to pull guard but Stanley turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Smith. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Smith tries to score a body lock takedown but Stanley shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Stanley jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Smith walks away with a smile on his face. Stanley gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Stanley shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Smith defends it nicely.
Stanley tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Stanley misses with a wild combination.
Smith swats away the attempt to clinch by Stanley.

Stanley gets tackled into the cage by Smith. Smith maintains the clinch.

Smith breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Stanley tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Smith wants to clinch.

Stanley shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Smith's guard.
Smith is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Stanley tries to stand but Smith is controlling from the bottom.
Smith really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Smith will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Stanley might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Smith haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Smith is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Stanley is working Smith over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Smith not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Smith has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Stanley is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Smith.

Stanley decides to stand up, so the ref orders Smith to his feet.

Stanley is trying to drag Smith to the mat but Smith just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Smith ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Smith no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Smith pushes Stanley off and scrambles back to his feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Stanley shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Smith manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Smith wants to sweep but no luck.

Stanley drops back, looking for a kneebar! Smith looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Smith looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Smith!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Stanley tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Smith wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Both fighters take a look at the clock.

Stanley is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Smith off and has taken his back!

Smith defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Stanley's arms.

Stanley has his opponent's back but Smith is looking to stand. He manages to get to his feet and shakes off Stanley.

Nice takedown defense from Stanley. No joy for Smith on that attempt.

Smith wants to get back to his feet but Stanley drags him back down.

Smith tries to buck Stanley off but Stanley is having none of it.
Stanley is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Smith will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Stanley tries for a kimura but Smith is defending well.

A close second round but Elliott Stanley will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's time! Smith's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!



Stanley shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Elliott Stanley.
Stanley tries to close the distance and clinch but Smith swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Smith moves in looking to clinch but Stanley pushes him off.
John Smith is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Stanley throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Smith shoots in but no luck this time.
Stanley swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Smith.

Smith is looking to get back to full guard here but Stanley has managed to pass to side control instead.
Smith wings away with a couple of strikes but they don't land.

Stanley decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Stanley has taken the fight to the clinch.

Stanley keeps control of Smith as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Stanley is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Smith is defending well.

Stanley escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

and Stanley counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Stanley is looking to work some ground and pound but Smith has wrist control.
Smith is trying to control the position but Stanley postures up.

Stanley gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Smith gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Well Stanley has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
