Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rocky Patterson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cedric Maake (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Cedric Maake was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Rocky Patterson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Cedric Maake!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Ben Zyskovitsi and Marco Blurström.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maake avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Maake lands with a cross.
Maake changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Patterson looks to land a left hand but Maake moved out of range nicely.
Patterson tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

and Maake counters with a nice uppercut.
Maake stalks Patterson and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Patterson's face. Patterson staggers backwards, shaken.
Patterson throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Maake was covering up waiting for the punch and Patterson finishes the takedown easily into guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Patterson drops back looking for a leg! Maake is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Maake manages to kick Patterson off! Patterson jumps back into Maake's guard.

Maake really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Patterson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Patterson is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Maake sees it coming and defends easily.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Rocky Patterson.
