Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Marco Vecchi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Christopher Pyle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Christopher Pyle was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Marco Vecchi! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Christopher Pyle! The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Thiago Cunha and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vecchi throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Vecchi tries to clinch but Pyle moves out of range. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Vecchi. Pyle looking to score a takedown here. Vecchi is defending well but Pyle drives through and ends up in Vecchi's guard. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Vecchi wants to sweep here but Pyle controlling him for the moment. Pyle controlling from the top position. Pyle prevents Vecchi from getting back to his feet. Vecchi is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Pyle prevents Vecchi from getting back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pyle engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Pyle throwing strikes from guard but Vecchi blocks nicely. Pyle wanted to stand there but Vecchi had control of the position. Pyle is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Pyle works a leg free and moves into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pyle prevents Vecchi from improving his position. Pyle controlling the action here. Vecchi is trying to control but can't.

Vecchi is looking to get to half guard. Pyle get's back to his feet. Vecchi fails with the takedown. Pyle moves into range and clinches up with Vecchi.

Pyle has hold of one of Vecchi's legs. Vecchi is fighting the takedown attempt but Pyle gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Pyle is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Pyle passes Vecchi's left leg - he's now in half guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Pyle content to control rather than advance. Pyle working over Vecchi with some ground and pound. Vecchi looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Pyle tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Vecchi. Pyle controlling the pace. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Vecchi jumps guard but Pyle turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Vecchi tries to stall but Pyle uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Vecchi looking for a takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Marco Vecchi. That's going to take a lot out of him. Pyle breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Pyle keeps the fight on the outside. Vecchi tries to close the distance and clinch up but Pyle swats him away and circles back towards the center. Pyle drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pyle staying calm. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Pyle creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Pyle controls the position from side control. Pyle looks up at the clock and then as Vecchi takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Pyle smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

That's two minutes gone in the round. Pyle lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Pyle has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Pyle just content to control the position. Pyle tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Pyle has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Pyle looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pyle is looking to take a break and control but Vecchi is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Pyle decides to take the fight back to the feet. Pyle closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Pyle lands in his opponent's guard. Pyle would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pyle drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Pyle jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Vecchi is looking to stand up but Pyle isn't so interested in that idea. Pyle trying to control but Vecchi is working from the bottom. Vecchi is trying to keep Pyle in close.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Pyle's corner is telling him to maintain position. Pyle forces his way into half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Christopher Pyle showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Pyle has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Vecchi is proving hard to escape from. Vecchi can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Pyle controls the pace. Pyle trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Pyle avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Pyle won't allow Vecchi to sweep him here. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Vecchi is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Pyle is controlling him.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Vecchi is looking to clinch but Pyle is avoiding it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Vecchi shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Pyle defends it nicely. Pyle gets the takedown into side control. Pyle happy to just control the position for now. Vecchi tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Pyle wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pyle staying calm. Pyle has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Vecchi! Pyle tries to stand up but he's trapped just for the moment. Pyle controlling from mount. Pyle is looking to work his way around to Vecchi's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pyle controlling the position easily from mount. Pyle is working for a guillotine from mount but Vecchi frees his head quite easily.
BOOM! Pyle connects with a massive shot to the dome!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Pyle raining down shots from the mount! Marco Vecchi has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Christopher Pyle is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Pyle pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
And that's the end of the fight! Christopher Pyle comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Pyle has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
