Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Didier Drogba!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rod The Bod!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Daniel Franklin and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Drogba tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Drogba pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Nice takedown defense from Drogba. No joy for The Bod on that attempt.
The Bod closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Drogba sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
The Bod is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Drogba is trying to maintain the position but The Bod is very close to passing his half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Drogba is trying to stand up here but The Bod is controlling him well.
The Bod wants to pass the guard but Drogba is defending well.
Drogba is trying to stand.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Drogba ducks under a wild hook from The Bod.
The Bod looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Drogba throws a head kick but The Bod moves out of range.
The Bod shoots for a double leg takedown but Drogba sprawls well. He's pushed The Bod's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Didier Drogba has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rod The Bod.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Drogba lands a head kick!
Drogba throws a sloppy head kick and The Bod moves out of range easily.
The Bod fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Whack! Drogba lands a heavy head kick that drops The Bod. The ref tackles Drogba to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because The Bod was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). Didier Drogba!
