Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Marc Fuller! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ronnie Wright! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Cecil Peabody and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Horrible takedown by Fuller or perhaps it was just good defense by Wright which made him look bad. Fuller moves into the clinch. Fuller wants to break free but Wright has control.
Fuller is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Wright pulls him back up using the underhooks. Fuller blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Fuller managing to block the knees to the body from Wright.
Fuller goes for a takedown attempt but Wright pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Marc Fuller. That's going to take a lot out of him. Fuller changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Wright looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Wright is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Fuller asserts his dominance and retains side control. Fuller is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Wright is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fuller trying to control the action but Wright is working from the bottom. Wright looks gassed! Fuller tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Fuller trying to control the position but Wright is working away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. A lull in the action here as Fuller stalls from top position. Fuller seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Wright for as long as he can get away with. Fuller in side control, throwing shots but Wright defends. Fuller wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Wright, who protects the arm well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Fuller tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Fuller has hold of Wright's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Wright seems comfortable defending it but Fuller has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Wright is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Wright is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Fuller couldn't care less - he's delighted!
