Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tommy Fire (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
12 - 17 - 1, fighting out of New York, Tommy Fire! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jake Smith! The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Jorge Garcia and Steve Montenegro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Smith moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Smith lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Fire circles away quickly and effectively. Smith keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Smith throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Fire. Fire avoids the head kick by Smith.
Smith misses with a two punch combination.
Smith plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Smith fails with the takedown. A combination from Smith does no damage. Smith throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Fire shoots in for a takedown but Smith shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Smith lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Smith throws a right and a left that Fire avoids nicely. Fire shoots in for a takedown but Smith shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tommy Fire. That's going to take a lot out of him. Smith getting the better of the striking in that exchange. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Fire. Fire shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Smith as he avoids it easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fire fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Smith avoids it really well and circles away. A left and a right from Smith both land. Nice combination. Fire shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Left hook, right uppercut from Smith. Fire takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Smith takes the fight into the clinch. Smith breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Smith throws a nice looking combination but Fire bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Fire with a poor takedown and Smith counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Smith tries to clinch but Fire is having none of it. Smith has Fire up against the cage in a clinch.
A nice left hand lands by Smith.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fire tries for a takedown but Smith manages to get underhooks.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Smith breaks from the clinch.
Fire shoots in for a double leg but Smith sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Smith fails in his attempt to clinch. Smith has Fire up against the cage in a clinch.
Smith is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Fire to keep the fight standing. Smith throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Smith's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Fire gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Fire is looking for a triangle but Smith pushes his legs off easily.
Smith trying to control the position from guard on top but Fire is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Fire tries to land a sweep but no joy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Smith wants to pass the guard but Fire is keeping the position. Smith trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Smith wants to control from the top but Fire keeps moving. Fire has momentary wrist control but Smith slips an elbow through the middle. Smith passes Fire's left leg - he's now in half guard. Ground and pound from Smith. Smith sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Fire defending well though. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Smith takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Fire is not content to let Smith control the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Smith missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Fire avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Smith. Smith thows a huge punch but Fire dodges it nicely.
Smith wants to take a breather but Fire is having none of it. Smith throwing shots but Fire is blocking nicely. Smith is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Smith scoring with strikes to the body and head. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Fire looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Smith is looking for a kimura but Fire is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Smith to get the leverage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jake Smith dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Smith connects with a body shot that sends Fire's belly button to the back. Smith lands a slapping body shot.
Smith cracks Fire with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Smith tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Smith throws a right and a left that Fire avoids nicely. Smith lands a jab-cross combination. Smith lands with an overhand left. Tommy Fire is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Smith stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Smith wants it to stay on the feet. Jake Smith seems to be getting the better of the standup. Fire avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Smith dives in and scores a takedown into Fire's guard. Fire wants to hit a switch here but Smith passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Fire there! Smith misses with a head shot. Smith lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Fire hang on? This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Smith dominating with strikes here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Smith landing punches. Smith has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Smith punching from mount but Fire doing a good job of avoiding damage. Smith throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Fire because Smith loaded up on that one. Fire tries to lock up and control but Smith gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Fire might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Smith unloads with some shots from mount but Fire bucks and avoids them well.
Fire is bucking up trying to escape but Smith cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Smith scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Fire?
Fire is squirming around, avoiding Smith's attempts to control the action. Smith working Fire over with strikes here.
Fire is rocked! Smith is stalling here but it's allowed Fire to get half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Smith wants to lay and pray for a moment but Fire keeps working.

Smith throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Fire to regain full guard. Smith trying to control but Fire is working from the bottom. Fire bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Smith's guard. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Smith is on top in guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Smith stands up over Fire, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Smith passes into half guard. Fire is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Smith's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Smith's back! Smith is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Fire is not going to allow Smith to sit and survive in this position. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Fire keeps control of the position as Smith tries to break free.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Fire's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.

Fire thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jake Smith showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!
Smith scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Left hook, right uppercut from Smith. A head kick misses from Smith. Jab from Smith. Fire has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Smith lands a nice leg kick that just misses Fire's sensitive parts. Smith tries a head kick but it misses.

Smith leaves Fire with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Smith throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Fire's head. Fire throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Smith's waist but Smith gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Fire off to one side. Smith misses with a wild combination.

That's one minute gone in the round. Horrible takedown by Fire or perhaps it was just good defense by Smith which made him look bad. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tommy Fire. That's going to take a lot out of him. Fire gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Smith counters with a two punch combo. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Smith throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Smith lands with an uppercut that bounces Fire off the cage and back into range. Fire avoids a punch combination nicely.

Smith goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Fire on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Fire shoots in for a double leg but Smith sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Fire shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Smith sprawls well. Smith wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Fire gets slowly back to his feet. Fire swats away the attempt to clinch by Smith. Jake Smith is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Smith shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Fire manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Fire tries to land a sweep but no joy. Smith pushing down on Fire's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Fire is staying active underneath Smith, who seems content to just control the action from this position. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Smith controlling the action here. Fire is looking to improve his position.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Jake Smith wasn't active enough on the ground. Fire takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Smith connects with the punch. Jake Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A head kick misses from Smith. Smith is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Smith is looking to clinch but Fire is avoiding it.
Fire ducks right into an uppercut from Smith. Smith darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Fire fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Fire looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that. Fire keeps the fight on the outside. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Smith throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body. Some wild striking there from Smith.
Tommy Fire has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Fire throws a right hand that Smith ducks under and follows up with a left that Smith also avoids with ease.
And that's the end of the fight! Jake Smith comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Smith has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
