Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ed Banner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gareth Wilcox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Banner comes to the ring accompanied by Rusty Cage - Soundgarden. Gareth Wilcox will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ed Banner! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Gareth Wilcox! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Alec Ball and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wilcox buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Wilcox throws a left that rocks Banner and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Wilcox dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Banner regain composure!
Banner is rocked!
It looks like Ed Banner has been cut. This has been an exciting period of action! Banner pushes Wilcox away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Wilcox gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Oh Banner is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Banner manages to work his way to half guard, despite Wilcox's best efforts. Banner manages to get to full guard.
Banner seems to have got his legs back now. Banner keeping full guard, as Wilcox tries to pass. Banner seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Banner bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Wilcox's guard. Banner decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Wilcox, up you get!
That's one minute gone in the round. Banner throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Wilcox. Banner avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Banner tries to bum rush Wilcox with a series of wild strikes but Wilcox uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Banner lands a really nice looking cross but Wilcox seems unphased.

Banner's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Banner duly obliges. Wilcox lands with a nice body kick. Wilcox swings and misses with a hook to the body.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Wilcox misses with a low kick. Wilcox throws an overhand right that lands on Banner's shoulder, as Banner tries to avoid the shot. Wilcox darts in trying to clinch and Banner makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Banner fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Wilcox manages to avoid it. Wilcox wants to clinch and Banner counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wilcox tries to clinch but Banner is having none of it. Banner throws a nice looking combination but Wilcox bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Nice cross by Banner. Ed Banner seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Banner fails to land with a series of punches.

and Wilcox counters with a good low kick that Banner was not able to check. Banner misses with a few strikes there.

Wilcox tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Banner counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Banner lands a jab to the nose. Wilcox tries to clinch there but Banner circles away.
Wilcox throws a right and a left that both miss. Banner throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
That's five minutes gone in the round. Banner checks a leg kick nicely. Wilcox closes the distance looking to clinch and Banner counters with a lovely shot to the body. Banner avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Wilcox wants to clinch but Banner slips to the side and Banner counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Wilcox closes the distance but Banner moves to the side and Banner counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Wilcox fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Banner has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Banner blocks a low kick nicely. Wilcox looks to clinch and Banner counters with a left and a right that stings Wilcox. Wilcox feints a kick and comes over the top with a right hand, followed by a left hook - both land, sending Banner crashing to the mat! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 7:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Gareth Wilcox! Gareth Wilcox was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
