Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Harvi Kalaso (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Caeas Liege (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kalaso's entrance music is Hank Williams SR. . A fine choice. Liege is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Will T. Bear: For a Few Dollars . These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 34 - 28 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Harvi Kalaso!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Caeas Liege!
The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Fedor Mirinova and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kalaso gets caught napping as Liege dives in and scores a takedown. Kalaso manages to retain guard.
Kalaso is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Liege thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Liege is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Liege drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Kalaso dives on top into guard.
Kalaso looking to sit in guard and control but Liege gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Liege got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kalaso has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Liege has managed to get both his arms back between Kalaso's legs - danger averted.

Liege drops back looking for a leg! Kalaso is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Kalaso manages to kick Liege off! Liege jumps back into Kalaso's guard.

Liege drops back, looking for a kneebar! Kalaso looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Kalaso looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Kalaso!

Kalaso tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Kalaso has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Kalaso wants to control but Liege is keeping him busy.
Liege is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Kalaso asserts his dominance and retains side control.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Kalaso wants to lay and pray for a moment but Liege keeps working.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business.



Liege closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Kalaso did well to prevent Liege getting side control.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Kalaso pushes Liege off looking to stand but Liege dives back in and keeps control.

Liege is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Kalaso has managed to free his arm - good work.
Kalaso tries to kick Liege off but Liege keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Liege is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Kalaso is just riding it out for now. Liege eventually gives up the hold.
Harvi Kalaso overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Liege is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Kalaso defends it well.

Liege is working for a submission of some sort.

Liege is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Kalaso is just riding it out for now. Liege eventually gives up the hold.

Kalaso is defending against the submission attempts here by Liege.

Liege looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Kalaso looks like he's trying to stand up.
Liege is thwarting Kalaso's attempts to control the position.
Kalaso is pressing down on Liege's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Liege drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Liege as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Kalaso screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Liege! Nice submission victory there!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:26 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kneebar). Caeas Liege!
Caeas Liege was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
