The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ducats tries to clinch but Gross moves away

and Gross counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Ducats wants a takedown.

Gross manages to break the clinch.
Ducats shoots in but Gross avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Gross throws a series of punches but Ducats avoids them all with ease.
Ducats really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Gross throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Ducats has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Gross.
Ducats throws a body kick that misses.
Ducats shoots in looking for a takedown but Gross manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Ducats 's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jean Ducats . That's going to take a lot out of him.
Gross is looking to clinch.
Ducats shoots in for a takedown but Gross shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

and Ducats counters with a lovely shot to the body.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Ducats is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Gross manages to escape and get back to his feet!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Gross is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Ducats rolls with it to try and escape but Gross cranks on the arm and Ducats is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
