Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jienaro Marfil!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Saki Rojo!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marfil lands a really nice looking cross but Rojo seems unphased.
Rojo is looking to clinch but Marfil is avoiding it.
Marfil tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Rojo was well out of range. Poor timing from Marfil.
Marfil throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Rojo misses with a takedown attempt - Marfil sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
A punch combination from Marfil misses.
Saki Rojo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Oooooh!!! Marfil has knocked Rojo down with a huge combo! Marfil steps away and waves a wobbly Rojo back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
It looks like Saki Rojo has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Rojo throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Marfil's waist but Marfil gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Rojo off to one side.
Marfil stuffs the takedown attempt from Rojo. Rojo gets slowly back to his feet.
Jienaro Marfil has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Saki Rojo.
Rojo tries to score a power double leg takedown but Marfil sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Rojo somewhat.
Marfil lands a big right hook! Rojo looks hurt but is still standing! Marfil lands a left jab and another right hook! This time Rojo falls down and Marfil dives in with a huge hammer fist! Rojo's eyes roll back! The referee calls for the bell and Marfil runs up the cage to celebrate with his fans!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Jienaro Marfil!
Jienaro Marfil decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
