Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Manuel Lacalle! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Brows Bourque! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Yves DeLean and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bourque fails with the takedown. Bourque shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Bourque looks for a takedown but Lacalle sprawls well. Manuel Lacalle has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brows Bourque. Bourque tries to clinch but Lacalle moves away and Lacalle cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Bourque looks to clinch letting Lacalle counter with a right hand. Lacalle stuffs the takedown attempt from Bourque. Bourque gets slowly back to his feet. Lacalle slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Bourque swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Bourque takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Bourque throws a sloppy body shot
and Lacalle counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bourque jumps guard but Lacalle stands there with Bourque around his waist. Bourque gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Bourque tries to break the clinch but Lacalle is controlling the position. Lacalle lands a shot to the body. Lacalle stops a takedown attempt from Bourque.

Lacalle throws a punch but it's blocked by Bourque. Bourque wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Bourque has Lacalle pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Lacalle manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Lacalle avoiding damage.
Lacalle swings wildly with an uppercut but Bourque uses good head movement to avoid it.

Bourque wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Lacalle prevents Bourque from getting back to his feet. Lacalle wants to stand but Bourque has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Lacalle stopping the sweep attempt from Bourque. Lacalle has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Bourque is proving hard to escape from. Bourque looking to hit a scissor sweep but Lacalle is one step ahead there.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Bourque shoots in but no luck this time.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lacalle lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Bourque fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Bourque looks winded! Bourque closes the distance looking to clinch and Lacalle counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Bourque will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Bourque looks for a takedown but Lacalle sprawls well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Manuel Lacalle will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Manuel Lacalle is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Horrible takedown by Bourque or perhaps it was just good defense by Lacalle which made him look bad. Bourque fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Lacalle lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Bourque circles away quickly and effectively. Bourque shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Lacalle defends it nicely. Bourque looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Lacalle connects with a good right hand that stumbles Bourque. Bourque circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Bourque darts in trying to clinch enabling Lacalle to counter with a crisp jab. Bourque fails with a takedown attempt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bourque swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Lacalle goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Lacalle avoids the body shot from Bourque.
Bourque takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Bourque fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Lacalle throws a one two combo.
Bourque on the wrong end of a nice jab. Bourque will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lacalle lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Bourque backs up against the cage.
Lacalle circles away from the clinch attempt and Lacalle counters with a lovely straight right hand! Lacalle throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Lacalle scores with a decent looking hook. Bourque tries to clinch but Lacalle moves away and Lacalle counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Lacalle lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Bourque circles away quickly and effectively. Bourque shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Lacalle as he jumps to the side. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Manuel Lacalle will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

A frustrated look appears on Lacalle's face as he tries to break the clinch. Lacalle has Bourque pressed against the cage, preventing Bourque from circling away and getting back to striking at range. The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. Lacalle misses with a punch on the inside.

Lacalle looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Lacalle tries to work over Bourque's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Bourque can't get the takedown.

And that's the end of the fight! Manuel Lacalle showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Lacalle, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Manuel Lacalle wins by unanimous decision! A very excited looking Manuel Lacalle rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
