And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Biff Nugent!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Trevor Gratis and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bhaltair tries to close the distance and clinch up but Nugent swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Bhaltair tries to clinch but Nugent moves out of range.
Nugent pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Bhaltair back to the cage. Nugent follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.


It looks like Shawn Bhaltair has been cut.
Bhaltair throws a right and a left that both miss.
Nugent avoids a punch combination nicely.
Bhaltair throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Nugent's waist but Nugent gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Bhaltair off to one side.
Bhaltair tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Bhaltair uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Nugent.
Bhaltair doesn't manage to clinch there - Nugent circles away.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Nugent really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bhaltair. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Nugent throws a big right hand that misses.
Nugent postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Nugent throws an elbow that misses. Bhaltair uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Nugent's guard. Nice move by Bhaltair!
Nugent is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Bhaltair is controlling him.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Nugent is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Bhaltair asserts his dominance and retains side control.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Nugent can do anything to dispel that myth.
Nugent is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Nugent is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Bhaltair is controlling him well.

Bhaltair wants to lay and pray for a moment but Nugent keeps working.
Nugent is trying to buck Bhaltair off.
An elbow from Bhaltair crashes against the mat.
Nugent wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Bhaltair creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Nugent sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Bhaltair postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Bhaltair has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Nugent is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Bhaltair yanks on the arm and Nugent is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Bhaltair.
