Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jim Beckett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Escobar Orozco (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jim Beckett! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Escobar Orozco! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Beckett scores with a spinning back kick! Beckett motions for Orozco to come forward. Beckett throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. A good leg kick by Beckett. A jab from Orozco misses. Orozco throws a sloppy head kick and Beckett moves out of range easily. Beckett misses with a head kick.
Orozco swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Beckett counters with a shoot takedown. Orozco fights it but they end up in guard. Orozco has Beckett pulled in close to control his posture. Beckett trying to control the position from guard on top but Orozco is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Orozco bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Beckett's guard. Beckett might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Orozco wants to control from the top but Beckett keeps moving. Beckett trying to control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Orozco trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Beckett keeping moving, preventing Orozco from controlling successfully. Orozco stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Beckett swivels though and keeps the full guard. Orozco thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Orozco working some strikes from top position. Orozco throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Beckett works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Orozco working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Beckett is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Beckett keeping full guard, as Orozco tries to pass. Beckett wants to sweep but no luck. Orozco throwing strikes but missing. Beckett lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Orozco! The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Beckett cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Orozco is trying desperately to improve position. Beckett dominating with strikes here. Beckett controlling his opponent. Beckett avoids the attempt from Orozco to control. Beckett tries to control but Orozco wriggling away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Orozco is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Orozco really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Beckett lands a couple of good shots and Orozco has given up his back, trying to escape the position! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Orozco tries to roll but Beckett sticks to his back.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jim Beckett dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Orozco throws a sloppy head kick and Beckett moves out of range easily. Nice takedown defense from Beckett. No joy for Orozco on that attempt. Beckett dodges the punch combination from Orozco.

Beckett lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Orozco throws a right hand that Beckett ducks under and follows up with a left that Beckett also avoids with ease. Beckett avoids the body shot from Orozco.
Orozco looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Beckett! Beckett regains half guard. Orozco is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Beckett sees it coming and defends easily. Orozco seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Beckett does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Beckett gets back to full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Orozco looking to sit in guard and control but Beckett gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Beckett trying to control the position from guard on top but Orozco is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Beckett throwing strikes but missing. Orozco is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Orozco preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Orozco trying to control the position.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Escobar Orozco hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. A punch combination from Orozco misses. Orozco blocks a low kick nicely. Beckett fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Orozco. Orozco has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Beckett. Orozco blocks a low kick nicely. Orozco checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Orozco dives in and grabs Beckett's left leg, looking for a takedown. Beckett pushes down on Orozco's head and hops out.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Beckett avoids the head kick by Orozco.
Orozco takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Beckett with a nice cross. Orozco throws a right hand that Beckett ducks under and follows up with a left that Beckett also avoids with ease. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Beckett. A solid leg kick lands there for Beckett.

Beckett tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Orozco throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Beckett shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Escobar Orozco is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. The fighters circling - Beckett throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Orozco has a takedown stuffed. Jim Beckett has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Escobar Orozco.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Beckett looks to land a body kick but Orozco moved away. Beckett keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Jim Beckett is winning the standup battle so far. Beckett moves away from the strike by Orozco. Beckett fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Orozco is out of range. Beckett stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Beckett scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Orozco misses with the combination.
Beckett wants to land a leg kick but Orozco is out of range. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Beckett moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Beckett connects with a crisp jab. Orozco lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Orozco throws an overhand right that lands on Beckett's shoulder, as Beckett tries to avoid the shot. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jim Beckett dominated that second round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Beckett fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Orozco's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down. Beckett tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Orozco is able to avoid easily. Beckett looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Orozco is fending him off so far but Beckett persists. Nope, Orozco circles away and we're back to standing. A bone on bone clash there as Orozco blocks the leg kick.

Beckett looks to score with a jab to the body but Orozco is just out of range. Beckett wants to slow Orozco down by chopping away at his legs. Beckett throws a front kick aimed at Orozco's knee but Orozco avoids it well. Orozco dives in and grabs Beckett's left leg, looking for a takedown. Beckett pushes down on Orozco's head and hops out. Beckett scoring well with a low kick there.
Orozco scores with a head kick. Beckett tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time. Beckett scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Orozco blocks a low kick nicely. Beckett lands with a thumping leg kick.

Orozco throws a right and a left that both miss. Orozco fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Beckett to the ground. Orozco is now in Beckett's guard. Beckett utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Beckett working a defensive guard here.

Escobar Orozco has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. A head kick misses from Orozco. Orozco attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Orozco thows a left - swing and a miss! Beckett lands a front kick. Beckett shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Beckett showed some decent athleticism there. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Beckett wants to control but Orozco is keeping him busy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Beckett is really struggling to control Orozco but he's trying to hold on to the position. Beckett is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Orozco is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Jim Beckett wasn't doing enough on the ground. Beckett throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Orozco misses with a head kick.
Orozco walks into a left hand. Beckett connects with a body shot. Beckett clobbers Orozco with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Orozco fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Beckett lands with a hook. Orozco tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Beckett scores with a decent looking hook. A combination from Orozco does no damage. A decent looking body kick lands there for Beckett. Orozco takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A slapping leg kick lands for Beckett.
Beckett throws a quick inside leg kick. Orozco takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Good standup being displayed there by Beckett as he connects with a hook. Beckett closes the distance and lands a one-two. Beckett with a jab. Beckett is looking to slow Orozco down with leg kicks. Good leg kick by Beckett there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Beckett lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Beckett connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Orozco tries to land a leg kick but Beckett saw it coming and moves away.
Beckett dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Orozco. That did some damage! Orozco takes a jab right on the kisser.
And that's the end of the fight! Jim Beckett showed his dominance in that final round. Well Beckett has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
