Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jimmy Gotti!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Vasilij Zajtsev!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gotti lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Zajtsev connects with a right hand. Gotti shakes it off.
Zajtsev throws the kick towards the body but Gotti avoids it.
Zajtsev misses with a takedown attempt - Gotti sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Nice takedown defense from Gotti. No joy for Zajtsev on that attempt.
Zajtsev stuns Gotti with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Zajtsev looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Gotti is fending him off so far but Zajtsev persists. Nope, Gotti circles away and we're back to standing.
Jimmy Gotti has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vasilij Zajtsev.
Gotti connects with a good right hand that stumbles Zajtsev. Zajtsev circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Gotti throws a half hearted mid kick.
Gotti throws a right hand that Zajtsev ducks under and follows up with a left that Zajtsev also avoids with ease.
Gotti leaves Zajtsev with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Zajtsev looks for a takedown but Gotti sprawls well.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Gotti drops Zajtsev with a beautiful combination! Zajtsev stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Gotti is looking for the KO!


Zajtsev is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Gotti tries to bum rush Zajtsev with a series of wild strikes but Zajtsev uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Zajtsev is still on wobbly legs! Can Gotti finish him?
Zajtsev takes a swing at Gotti's ribcage but misses.
Gotti connects with a jab, followed by a picture perfect straight right that sends Zajtsev to the canvas, out cold! What a finish by Gotti!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Jimmy Gotti!
In his post fight interview, Jimmy Gotti started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
