Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tyler Durden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eddy Maiden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Durden might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Pride . Maiden has chosen Walk as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tyler Durden! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Eddy Maiden! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Alec Ball and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Durden drops his hands momentarily and Maiden takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Durden waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Maiden. Maiden uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Durden.
Durden lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Maiden circles away quickly and effectively. Maiden misses with a looping left. Maiden throws a quick inside leg kick. Maiden throws the left hand but Durden avoids the punch easily. Maiden throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Durden stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Maiden connects with a single shot there. Durden is looking to clinch. Maiden misses with a body shot.
Durden throws a nice looking combination but Maiden bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Durden tries to clinch up but Maiden circles away and keeps his distance. Durden will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Maiden looks to score with a jab to the body but Durden is just out of range. The fighters circle momentarily. Maiden darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Durden misses the jab. Durden on the wrong end of a nice hook. Maiden throws a looping overhand right but Durden ducks down to avoid it. Nice body punch from Maiden. A chopping leg kick lands by Durden. Durden misses with a kick to the body.
Durden throws a chopping leg kick but Maiden manages to avoid taking any serious damage. Durden connects with an inside leg kick. Maiden throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Durden thows a left - swing and a miss! The fight stays on the outside here - Durden looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Durden throws out a leg kick but Maiden moves out of range and Durden only half commits. Durden lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Maiden at a distance.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Maiden lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Durden has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Durden and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Maiden with a hook. Durden feints a jab promting Maiden to slip. Durden then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Maiden slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
It looks like Eddy Maiden has been cut. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! The fight moves into the clinch position. Maiden breaks from the clinch.
Maiden dives in and scores a takedown into Durden's guard. Maiden throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Durden works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Maiden throws a big right hand that misses. Maiden wants to control from the top but Durden keeps moving. Durden utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Durden has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Maiden is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Durden. Maiden controls the position. Maiden working the ground and pound but Durden is defending the strikes. Maiden is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Maiden fails to land a wild elbow strike.

Durden is not content to let Maiden control the position. Maiden lands a few punches from side control. Maiden has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Maiden controlling from side mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Maiden effectively controlling the action here. Durden is leaning against Maiden and scores with a nice uppercut to the body. Maiden breaks the clinch.

Tyler Durden is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Durden wants to clinch. Maiden lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Eddy Maiden hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Durden scores with a punch to the head. Maiden is looking to land body kicks. Maiden connects with a single shot there. Durden scores to the head and body with a nice combination! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Maiden takes a swing at Durden's ribcage but misses. Durden takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Durden tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Maiden manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Maiden fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Maiden moves away from the strike by Durden. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's going to sap some energy. Durden misses with a right hand so Maiden counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Maiden is in close to Durden's body, working some short punches and elbows. Maiden sitting in guard here, content to control. Maiden in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Maiden stopping the sweep attempt from Durden. Maiden wants to control from the top but Durden keeps moving.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Maiden slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Durden wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Maiden is now in half guard. Tyler Durden has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Maiden wants to pass the guard but Durden is defending well.

Maiden is pressing down on Durden's thigh, looking to free his foot. Durden is holding on for now. Eddy Maiden is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Maiden prevents Durden from improving his position. Maiden seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Durden does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Maiden controlling the action here.
