Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mark Reynolds (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jose Aldo Jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Aldo Jr is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Dream On. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jose Aldo Jr! The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Igor Prikhodko and Vladimir Khabensky.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Reynolds lands an overhand right. Reynolds throws a big overhand right that connects, sending Aldo Jr tumbling to the canvas!
Aldo Jr is rocked! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Reynolds seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Aldo Jr is still in real trouble! Can Reynolds finish him? Reynolds postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Aldo Jr keeping moving, preventing Reynolds from controlling successfully. Aldo Jr seems to have recovered his senses. Aldo Jr avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Reynolds throws a strike but Aldo Jr rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Aldo Jr wants to stand and escape but instead Reynolds has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Reynolds trying to control but Aldo Jr is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Reynolds throwing strikes from guard but Aldo Jr blocks nicely. Reynolds throws a big right hand that misses. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Aldo Jr utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Reynolds has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Aldo Jr keeping moving, preventing Reynolds from controlling successfully. Reynolds missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. The ref stands the fighters back up. Mark Reynolds wasn't doing enough on the ground. Reynolds throws a looping overhand right but Aldo Jr ducks down to avoid it. Reynolds fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Reynolds takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Reynolds misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

enabling Aldo Jr to counter with a crisp jab. No joy there for Reynolds, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Reynolds breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Reynolds throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Reynolds throws a series of punches but Aldo Jr moves out of range. Reynolds dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Reynolds fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Aldo Jr is looking to clinch. Aldo Jr uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Reynolds. Reynolds thows a body kick. Aldo Jr tries to catch it but that hurt him. Reynolds tries to land a front kick but Aldo Jr steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Aldo Jr wants to clinch. Reynolds moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Reynolds throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Aldo Jr. Aldo Jr bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Aldo Jr finds himself stumbling back on wobbly legs after being clipped by a right hand. He's up against the cage, ducking and weaving under Reynolds's strikes but an uppercut finds it's way through and Aldo Jr falls! - He's completely out of it and the ref jumps in to save him!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mark Reynolds! An out of breath Mark Reynolds thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
