Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jack Kessler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Heath Marcum (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Kessler might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Yattering - Chase of Thoughts . Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jack Kessler! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Heath Marcum! The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Igor Prikhodko and Valeri Chadov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kessler keeps Marcum at a distance using the push kick. Kessler lands a jab. Kessler loads up on a big right hand but Marcum slips the punch. Kessler leaves Marcum with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Kessler throws a wild body kick that Marcum sees coming a mile off. An inside leg kick lands from Kessler. A slapping body kick lands there for Kessler. Nice body kick from Kessler. Nice cross by Kessler. Jack Kessler seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Kessler scores with a decent looking hook. Marcum keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Kessler. Marcum has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Marcum there as he acknowledges the shot.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kessler scores with a leg kick.

Marcum fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Kessler connects with a looping right hand.
Marcum shoots in looking for a takedown. Kessler tries to sprawl out of it but Marcum keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Kessler manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Jack Kessler has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Heath Marcum. Kessler throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Marcum was covering up waiting for the punch and Kessler finishes the takedown easily into guard. Marcum keeping moving, preventing Kessler from controlling successfully. Marcum is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Kessler is aware though and is defending well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Marcum working for a triangle but Kessler defends it easily.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kessler controlling from the top position. Kessler lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Marcum looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Marcum had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Kessler defends it easily. Marcum is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Kessler defends well. Marcum has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Kessler is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Marcum. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Marcum is looking for a sweep. Kessler has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kessler looks up at the clock and then as Marcum takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Kessler smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Kessler wants to control but Marcum is keeping him busy. Kessler is really struggling to control Marcum but he's trying to hold on to the position. Marcum is looking for a sweep. Marcum takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Kessler cracks Marcum with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Kessler immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Marcum is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Kessler!
