Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hometown Hero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tum Bailek (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hero's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Hall of Fame. Hometown Hero has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Hometown Hero! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tum Bailek! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Steve Smith and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bailek tries to clinch but Hero moves away and Hero moves into the clinch. Bailek using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Hero has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Bailek has had enough of the clinch but Hero keeps him there for the moment. Bailek with an attempt at a knee that misses.

Bailek misses with a knee to the head. Bailek has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Hero avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Bailek is looking to take this one to the mat. Bailek looks winded! Bailek can't break the clinch.

Hero wants to get back to striking at distance but Bailek won't allow it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bailek tries to land a knee to the head but Hero blocks with his arms.

Hero keeps the fight on the outside. Tum Bailek seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Bailek misses with a leg kick. Bailek gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Hero to score an easy takedown into full guard. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Hero is pushing down on Bailek's leg trying to pass to half guard. Bailek is fighting to maintain full guard but Hero has managed to sneak the leg through. Hero content to control rather than advance. Hero is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Hero in particular looking to stall.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bailek is trying to get back to full guard. Hero looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
We're going to have a standup here because Hometown Hero wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Hero clinches with his opponent.
Hero is looking for a takedown. A frustrated look appears on Bailek's face as he tries to break the clinch. Hero decides to pull guard. Hero working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Bailek doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Bailek manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Hero has his hands on Bailek's head, controlling the position. Bailek is looking to advance position but Hero has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hero scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Hero controlling from the full mount. Bailek is squirming around, avoiding Hero's attempts to control the action. Bailek tries to get back to half guard but can't. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hero postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Bailek looks a forlorn figure.
Hero looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Bailek is trying to escape the mount but Hero keeps good control and instead manages to take Bailek's back.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bailek defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Hero's arms. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Bailek is in bad spot here.

Bailek is trying to defend against the choke here but Hero has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Hero Tightens the hold and Bailek taps out furiously! Hero displays superior BJJ to win the fight.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Hometown Hero! A relieved looking Hometown Hero thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
