Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Steve Tompkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Mir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tompkins comes to the cage accompanied by Dying Fetus - One Shot, One Kill. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
14 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Steve Tompkins! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Frank Mir! The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Summer Carpenter and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tompkins throws a series of punches but Mir avoids them all with ease. Tompkins falls off balance throwing a combination
and Mir counters with a takedown into side control. Mir thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Mir looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Tompkins is trying to get back to half guard. Mir controlling from side mount. Mir is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Tompkins is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tompkins wants to control but Mir postures up. Tompkins tries to escape but Mir is in control. Mir working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Tompkins can't do much from the bottom here. Mir tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Mir content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mir tries for a kimura but Tompkins is defending well. Tompkins is trying to buck Mir off. Mir is trying to get an arm triangle but Tompkins is defending well. You can see the frustration on Tompkins's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Tompkins seems a little lost for a moment, as Mir dominates the positioning.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mir trying to control the action but Tompkins is working from the bottom. Mir is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Tompkins knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Tompkins is trying to improve his position. Tompkins wants to control but Mir postures up. Mir in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Tompkins is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Frank Mir! After winning the bout, Frank Mir thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
