The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nakanoi shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Ribeiro counters with a takedown into side control.
Nakanoi is looking for a sweep.
Nakanoi is trying to control Ribeiro's posture but Ribeiro avoids it.
Ribeiro really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Nakanoi. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Ribeiro with the ground and pound but Nakanoi regains half guard under the barage of strikes.
Nakanoi regains full guard. Nicely done.
Ribeiro slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Ribeiro won't allow Nakanoi to get back to his feet.
Ribeiro wanted to stand there but Nakanoi had control of the position.

Nakanoi is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Ribeiro's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Ribeiro's back!
