Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Luis Mejias (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Knox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Knox's choice of entrance music: The Exploited- Beat The Bastards. Luis Mejias has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Luis Mejias! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Johnny Knox! The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Joseph Jones and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Knox misses with a straight left. Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Knox. Mejias shrugs it off though. Knox takes a swing at Mejias's ribcage but misses. Knox slips a jab and a cross from Mejias.
Knox lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Mejias circles away quickly and effectively. Knox cracks Mejias with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Mejias ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Knox lands a nice looking body kick. Mejias ducks under a wild hook from Knox. Mejias uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Knox. Knox misses with a body shot
and Mejias counters with a nice uppercut. Mejias shoots in for a takedown but Knox shows good takedown defense.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mejias lands with a right hand. Mejias bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Knox connects with an inside leg kick. Knox takes a swing at Mejias's ribcage but misses. Mejias steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Knox. Knox throws a right hand that Mejias ducks under and follows up with a left that Mejias also avoids with ease. Mejias avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Knox throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Mejias. Knox takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Johnny Knox seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Knox scores with a leg kick.
Mejias slips a jab from Knox. Knox throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Mejias sees it coming and avoids it easily. Mejias has Knox up against the cage in a clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Knox continues to stall. The referee tells him to work or he's going to break them up. The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Johnny Knox. A slapping leg kick lands for Knox.
Mejias chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Knox can pounce on him.
Knox misses with an uppercut. Knox misses with a straight left.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The fighters circling - Knox throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Knox checks the leg kick nicely there.
Knox keeps the fight on the outside. Knox throws a nice inside leg kick. Knox circles away from the clinch attempt.
Mejias ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Mejias keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Knox throws a jab when Mejias was well out of range. Knox's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Mejias connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Knox scrambles back to his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Johnny Knox dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Knox throws a shot from downtown. Mejias moves away and avoids it. Knox scores with a leg kick.
Mejias swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Knox. Mejias takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Mejias gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Knox. Nice takedown defense from Knox. No joy for Mejias on that attempt. Mejias dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Mejias uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Knox. Knox is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Mejias shoots for a double leg takedown but Knox sprawls well. He's pushed Mejias's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Mejias looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
That's one minute gone in the round. Knox lands with a straight right. Mejias didn't see that one coming. A good leg kick by Knox. Knox jabbing away but nothing is landing. A jab from Knox misses. Knox rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Mejias moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Knox misses with a wild body shot. Knox gets caught flat footed, as Mejias shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Knox utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Knox keeping full guard, as Mejias tries to pass. Knox keeping moving, preventing Mejias from controlling successfully.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mejias trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mejias postures up in Knox's guard and throws a big left but Knox blocks it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Knox is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Mejias pushes down on Knox's leg and manages to get into half guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Mejias is working for a kimura but Knox is defending it quite comfortably.
Mejias is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mejias thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Mejias is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Knox is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
