Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Randy Orton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gerry Costello (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Orton kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is VOICES. Costello comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Bad boys kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Randy Orton! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Gerry Costello! The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Jorge Garcia and Reed Andrews.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Costello ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Excellent takedown into side control there by Orton. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. You can see the frustration on Costello's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Orton in side control, throwing shots but Costello defends. Orton tries to move to mount but Costello blocks the move with his legs. Costello can't do much from the bottom here. Orton thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Orton has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Costello wants to control but Orton postures up. Costello tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Orton wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Orton goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Costello rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Orton's guard! Nice work there by Costello! Orton looking for a guillotine here but Costello defends easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Orton is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Costello lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Orton is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Orton is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Costello forces his way into half guard. Orton moves into full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Costello wants to control from the top but Orton keeps moving. Costello trying to stand up but can't free himself from Orton's guard. Orton throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Costello would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Orton keeping moving, preventing Costello from controlling successfully. Orton looking to control.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Gerry Costello was stalling too much, according to the referee. Orton is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Costello's half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Orton wants to control but Costello is keeping him busy. Orton is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Orton is looking for a kimura but Costello is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Orton to get the leverage. Orton wants to lay and pray for a moment but Costello keeps working. Costello tries to roll over but Orton keeps him under control. Orton passes to side control. Costello is not content to let Orton control the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Orton thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Orton is trying to get an arm triangle but Costello is defending well. Orton blocks the strikes from Costello.
Orton wants to lay and pray for a moment but Costello keeps working. Costello manages to work his way to half guard, despite Orton's best efforts. Costello really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Orton. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Costello trying to hold on to Orton's head to control him but Orton postures up.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Orton wants to control but Costello is keeping him busy. Costello is defending against the submission attempts here by Orton.
Orton wants to take a breather but Costello is having none of it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Randy Orton dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
Orton lands a really nice looking cross but Costello seems unphased.
Orton leaves Costello with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Costello tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Orton throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Costello's waist but Costello gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Orton off to one side. Costello forces Orton back against the cage and clinches. Orton is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Costello to keep the fight standing. Costello stalling.
Costello tries to pull guard but Orton won't allow it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Costello pulls guard. Orton sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Costello's guard. Costello wants to control but Orton is keeping busy and won't allow it. Orton lands strikes from half guard. Orton wants to take a breather but Costello is having none of it. It looks like Orton is going to stand back up.
Costello keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Costello is looking for a sweep. Orton is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Orton is looking for a kimura here.
Costello tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Orton has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Orton looking to secure an arm triangle but Costello defends it well. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Costello tries to buck Orton off but Orton takes his back! Orton lands a shot to the head. Randy Orton overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Orton is looking for the choke from the back position but Costello is controlling his hands well. Orton has got one arm under Costello's chin. This could be trouble... Costello trying to control the other hand but Orton gets it free and sqeezes tight - just a matter of time now! Yep, Costello has tapped out! The fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Randy Orton! After the fight, Randy Orton was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
