Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the super heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Thomas Jamison!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bailey Vaughan!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Alyssa Summers and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jamison tries a head kick but it misses.
No luck for Vaughan with that takedown attempt.
Jamison fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Vaughan has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Vaughan dives in and grabs Jamison's left leg, looking for a takedown. Jamison pushes down on Vaughan's head and hops out.
A big right from Jamison misses.
Vaughan tries to clinch up but Jamison circles away and keeps his distance.
A head kick misses from Jamison.
Jamison throws a head kick that misses.
Jamison throws a body kick despite being completely out of range
and Vaughan cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Jamison leaves Vaughan with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Thomas Jamison has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bailey Vaughan.
Vaughan stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Jamison.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Jamison throws a sloppy head kick and Vaughan moves out of range easily.
Thomas Jamison seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Vaughan shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Jamison as he avoids it easily.
Vaughan shoots in and drives through. Jamison sprawls well.
Jamison wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
A solid leg kick lands there for Jamison.
Vaughan looks winded!
Vaughan blocks a head kick by Jamison.
Jamison lands a really nice looking cross but Vaughan seems unphased.
It looks like Bailey Vaughan has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Vaughan wants to stay close but Jamison steps back to make room for something. Vaughan seems frozen to the spot and bam! huge swing of the leg from Jamison and Vaughan drops like he has been shot! A huge head kick and it's all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Thomas Jamison!
