The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Micheangelo Fripello and Ryoma Takatsuka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rodriguez throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Boyoyoy was covering up waiting for the punch and Rodriguez finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Boyoyoy is trying to control the position but Rodriguez postures up.
Rodriguez controlling from the top position.
Boyoyoy working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Rodriguez doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Rodriguez manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Boyoyoy avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Rodriguez works over Boyoyoy with some ground and pound from guard.
Boyoyoy had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Rodriguez defends it easily.
Boyoyoy looking to hit a scissor sweep but Rodriguez is one step ahead there.
Rodriguez drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Rodriguez as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Boyoyoy screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Rodriguez! Nice submission victory there!
