Wilkes comes to the cage accompanied by Bruce Springsteen - Born In The U.S.A.. Jack Colquitt has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Douglas Wilkes! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Jack Colquitt! The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Andrew Berry and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wilkes fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Nice takedown defense from Colquitt. No joy for Wilkes on that attempt. Colquitt feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Colquitt missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Colquitt trying to control the position from guard on top but Wilkes is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Wilkes seems keen to control Colquitt's posture. Wilkes wants to sweep but no luck. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Wilkes holds on and takes a little breather. Wilkes on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Wilkes tries to get out of the position.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Colquitt stuffs the takedown attempt from Wilkes. Wilkes gets slowly back to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Douglas Wilkes. That's going to take a lot out of him. Colquitt stuffs the takedown. Douglas Wilkes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. No luck for Colquitt with that takedown attempt. Colquitt tries to clinch but Wilkes moves out of range. Wilkes throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Colquitt's waist but Colquitt gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Wilkes off to one side. Colquitt drops Wilkes with a big left hand and mounts him. Wilkes is in big trouble!
Wilkes is rocked! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Colquitt postures up and throws a massive shot that knocks Wilkes out cold! Two more strikes to his unconscious opponent for good luck and this one is all over! Colquitt goes absolutely crazy with his corner! Wow, you can see how much that win means to him!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Jack Colquitt!
