Payne comes to the cage accompanied by Lose Yourself. Fantastic has chosen Captain Scarlet as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Captain Fantastic! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Payne closes the distance and clinches up with Fantastic, looking for a takedown. Payne pushes Fantastic against the cage but Fantastic circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Payne looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Fantastic is fending him off so far but Payne persists. Nope, Fantastic circles away and we're back to standing. Payne fails in his attempt to clinch. Payne closes the distance and clinches up with Fantastic, looking for a takedown. Payne pushes Fantastic against the cage but Fantastic circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Given Payne. That's going to take a lot out of him. Excellent takedown into side control there by Fantastic. Fantastic is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Payne will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Let's hope that Fantastic has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Payne is looking to regain half guard here but Fantastic keeps moving and retains side control. Payne is working hard here to advance position. Fantastic is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Payne knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Fantastic trying to control the action but Payne is working from the bottom. Fantastic controls the position.

Payne is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Fantastic couldn't care less - he's delighted!
