The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Howard is defended easily by Stark.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Stark.
Howard tries for a takedown but Stark sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Stark fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Howard avoids the body shot from Stark.
Howard with a poor takedown
and Stark counters with a one-two to the body.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mike Howard. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Stark gets a takedown into half guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Stark not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Stark gets to his feet but Howard grabs hold of a leg and swivels beautifully into a kneebar. Stark falls to the floor but he can't defend the quick submission attempt and has to tap quickly to save his knee ligaments! Very nice work from Howard!
