PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mayuri Tatsuki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jacque Schtrappe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tatsuki comes to the cage accompanied by Norther - Released. Schtrappe is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Nitzer Ebb - Violent Playground. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 29 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Mayuri Tatsuki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Jacque Schtrappe!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Cecil Peabody and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Schtrappe staying out of range there.
Schtrappe ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Tatsuki shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Schtrappe sprawls well. Schtrappe wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Tatsuki gets slowly back to his feet.
Schtrappe throws a jab when Tatsuki was well out of range.
Schtrappe thows a body kick. Tatsuki tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Tatsuki tries to bum rush Schtrappe with a series of wild strikes but Schtrappe uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
A nice leg kick lands there from Schtrappe.
Tatsuki takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Tatsuki fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Schtrappe has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Tatsuki throws a shot from downtown. Schtrappe moves away and avoids it.
Tatsuki fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Schtrappe manages to avoid it.
Schtrappe throws a front kick that sends Tatsuki stumbling back into the cage.
Tatsuki blocks a low kick nicely.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Schtrappe.

Jacque Schtrappe is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Schtrappe misses with an uppercut. Tatsuki saw that one coming.

Tatsuki on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Schtrappe leaves Tatsuki with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mayuri Tatsuki. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Some bone on bone action there as Schtrappe checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

That was a close second round but I would say that Mayuri Tatsuki will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Tatsuki slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Tatsuki accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Tatsuki looking to sit in guard and control but Schtrappe gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Tatsuki is looking for a triangle but Schtrappe pushes his legs off easily.
Schtrappe tries to stand but Tatsuki is controlling from the bottom.

Tatsuki working a defensive guard but Schtrappe manages to pass into side control anyway.
Tatsuki can't do much from the bottom here.

Schtrappe decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Schtrappe slips under a jab from Tatsuki.
Schtrappe scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Tatsuki shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Tatsuki looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Tatsuki tries to move into range but Schtrappe moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

Tatsuki does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Schtrappe connects with the punch.
Tatsuki fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mayuri Tatsuki. That's going to take a lot out of him.

A solid leg kick lands there for Tatsuki.
Tatsuki shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Tatsuki is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.

Tatsuki takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Schtrappe thuds his shin into the meat of Tatsuki's side.
Tatsuki sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Schtrappe tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Tatsuki was well out of range. Poor timing from Schtrappe.
Schtrappe bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
A slapping leg kick lands for Schtrappe.
Tatsuki takes a shot right to the bread basket.

And that's the end of the fight!
Jacque Schtrappe comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Schtrappe has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
