Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Eildon Heap (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Henderson Cormier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Henderson Cormier told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Eildon Heap! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Henderson Cormier! The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Daniel Blasius and Albert Achterberg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Heap tries to clinch there but Cormier circles away.
Cormier tries to score a power double leg takedown but Heap sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Cormier somewhat. Heap tries to clinch up. Heap tries to clinch but Cormier moves away and Cormier counters with a takedown into side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Heap is trying to control Cormier's posture but Cormier avoids it. Cormier creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Heap sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Cormier wants to control but Heap is keeping him busy. Cormier is trying to ground and pound but Heap uses the momentary lack of control by Cormier to regain half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cormier takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Cormier tries to pass to full mount but Heap defends it. Cormier missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Cormier wants to work for an arm triangle but Heap is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Cormier is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Heap defends it well. Cormier has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Cormier missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Cormier is nestled in close to Heap, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Heap blocking the ground and pound attempt from Cormier. Cormier seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Heap does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Heap is defending against the submission attempts here by Cormier.
Cormier is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Heap sees it coming and defends easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cormier prevents Heap from improving his position. Heap blocking the ground and pound attempt from Cormier. Cormier seems to be working for a kimura but Heap defends the submission attempt. Cormier throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Henderson Cormier dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Heap tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Cormier paws at him with a jab and circles away. Heap throws a push kick but Cormier slaps the foot to one side. Cormier fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. No luck with that takedown attempt from Cormier. Heap lands a really nice looking cross but Cormier seems unphased.
Cormier keeps the fight on the outside. Heap doesn't manage to clinch there - Cormier circles away.
Heap lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Cormier at a distance.
Heap throws a leg kick which misses Cormier's front leg but catches the back leg as Cormier tries to avoid it. Heap shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Heap is looking to clinch but Cormier is avoiding it.
Eildon Heap seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Heap gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Heap gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Cormier.
Eildon Heap has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Henderson Cormier. Cormier takes an elbow to the forehead. Heap lands an elbow just above Cormier 's eye. Cormier jumps guard and drags Heap to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Cormier working a defensive guard here.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Heap closes the distance but Cormier moves to the side and Cormier counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Cormier throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. This has been an exciting period of action! Cormier throws an elbow that misses. Heap uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Cormier's guard. Nice move by Heap! Cormier is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Heap wants to control from the top but Cormier keeps moving.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cormier looking to control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Cormier is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Cormier tries to land a sweep but no joy.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. The fight stays on the outside here - Heap looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Cormier throws a series of punches but Heap avoids them all with ease. Cormier shoots in for a double leg but Heap sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Heap clinches with his opponent.
Heap is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body. Cormier is trying to pull guard but Heap turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Cormier takes an elbow to the forehead. Heap gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
It looks like Henderson Cormier has been cut. Heap lands a glancing elbow in the clinch. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Cormier has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Heap is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Cormier takes a knee to the side of the body. Cormier is breathing heavily. Heap lands a nice elbow from the clinch. Heap lands a damaging elbow. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Eildon Heap dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Henderson Cormier's cut. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!
Heap throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Eildon Heap is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Heap wants to clinch. Heap tries to clinch but Cormier is having none of it. Cormier circles away from the clinch attempt.
Cormier will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Heap clinches up against the cage. Heap lands an uppercut. A quick uppercut on the inside from Heap. Cormier is trying to pull guard but Heap has him pressed against the cage. Cormier takes a knee to the side of the body. Cormier is trying to drag Heap to the mat but Heap just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Eildon Heap has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Henderson Cormier. Cormier takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Heap lands an elbow inside that Cormier shrugs off.

That has opened up Henderson Cormier's cut even more. With the fighters up against the cage, Heap throws an elbow but misses. Cormier avoids the elbow strike from Heap, against the cage.
Cormier tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Heap just stands there and leans against the cage. Heap unloads a knee to the mid-section. Cormier lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. This has been an exciting period of action! Heap comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush. Cormier takes an elbow to the temple. Heap gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head. Heap is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body. Heap working Cormier over with knees to the body. A nice glancing elbow lands by Heap. Heap lands an elbow inside. Heap lands a nice elbow.
The cut above Henderson Cormier's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Heap with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head. Nice elbow from Heap. Cormier takes an elbow to the forehead.
Henderson Cormier's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters. Heap lands a good knee to the midsection. Cormier won't want to take too many of those. Heap comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush. Heap utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body. The referee calls the doctor in to look at Henderson Cormier's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
