Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Manuel Lacalle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hometown Hero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hero comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Hall of Fame kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Manuel Lacalle had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are William Peck, Steve Smith and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hero shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Lacalle but Lacalle pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Hero shoots for a double leg takedown but Lacalle sprawls well. He's pushed Hero's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Hero takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Hero is looking to clinch.
A combination from Lacalle does no damage.
Lacalle scores with a three punch combo!
Hero fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Lacalle to the ground. Hero is now in Lacalle's guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Hero trying to stand up but can't free himself from Lacalle's guard.
Lacalle is wriggling around but Hero manages to pass to half guard.
Hero content to control rather than advance.
Lacalle wants to get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

It looks like Hero might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
It looks like Hero is going to stand back up.
Hero seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Hometown Hero hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Hero wants to clinch
letting Lacalle counter with a right hand.
Hometown Hero seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lacalle lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Hero.
Manuel Lacalle has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hometown Hero.
Lacalle keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Hero takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Lacalle cracks Hero with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Hero's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Lacalle connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Hero scrambles back to his feet.
Hero changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Lacalle tries to avoid it but Hero manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Lacalle to the ground. Lacalle escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Hero swings away with a body shot that misses
and Lacalle counters with a straight right hand.
Lacalle gets a clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hero wants to stall.
Lacalle misses with a short punch on the inside.
Lacalle stalling against the cage.
Lacalle seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression.
Hero is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Lacalle gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hero gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Lacalle is looking to escape.
Hero looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Hero trying to control from half guard but Lacalle is working away.
Lacalle is trying to stand back up but Hero is controlling him
Lacalle knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hero on the ground.
Lacalle scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Hero manages to mount him!
Lacalle is trying to stand but he's not in a good position to be doing that! Hero has taken his back!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Lacalle has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Hero is working on the RNC. He looks like he's got it but Lacalle won't tap... Oh, he's out! The ref rips Hero off his unconscious opponent!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Hometown Hero!
Hometown Hero seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
