The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ishikawa shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Ishikawa not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Ishikawa advances position into side control!
Ishikawa in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Funkiunga really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ishikawa. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The referee asks Ishikawa politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Ishikawa prefers to stall for the moment though.
Ishikawa lands a nice forearm strike.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Ishikawa tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Ishikawa has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Funkiunga is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Ishikawa yanks on the arm and Funkiunga is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Ishikawa.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Akira Ishikawa!
Akira Ishikawa really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Damnfield clothing logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
