Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Chip Douglas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joonatan Valasvatsa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Douglas comes to the cage accompanied by Atmos - One you need. Chip Douglas has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Chip Douglas! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
13 - 12 - 1, fighting out of London, Joonatan Valasvatsa! The judges for this bout are James Glass, Steven Brown and Andrew Berry.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Douglas closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Valasvatsa to the mat! Valasvatsa manages to get full guard. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Douglas pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Valasvatsa is keeping the position for now. Douglas has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Douglas drops back, looking for a kneebar! Valasvatsa looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Valasvatsa looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Valasvatsa! Valasvatsa goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Douglas rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Valasvatsa's guard! Douglas looking to pass the guard. Douglas connects with a couple of short punches. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Valasvatsa manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Douglas manages to get himself to full guard.
Douglas escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Valasvatsa gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Valasvatsa drops back looking for a leg! Douglas is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Douglas manages to kick Valasvatsa off! Valasvatsa jumps back into Douglas's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Valasvatsa is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Douglas looking for a guillotine here but Valasvatsa defends easily.
Douglas is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Valasvatsa defends well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Valasvatsa has gone for a leg lock! Douglas slips out almost immediately though and dives into Valasvatsa's guard. Valasvatsa keeping full guard, as Douglas tries to pass.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Douglas pushing down on Valasvatsa's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Valasvatsa regains full guard. Nicely done. Douglas advances position into side control! Douglas cracks Valasvatsa with a big elbow. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Douglas is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Valasvatsa has escaped the position, nice work there. Douglas will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Valasvatsa gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Douglas not landing any meaningful shots this time. Douglas is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Valasvatsa is looking to control Douglas's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Valasvatsa avoid being mounted? The fighters are battling for position here. Valasvatsa manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Douglas with a flurry of punches that miss. Valasvatsa looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Douglas manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Douglas has gone for a leg lock! Valasvatsa slips out almost immediately though and dives into Douglas's guard. Douglas throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Valasvatsa stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Douglas swivels though and keeps the full guard. Valasvatsa lands a couple of decent looking shots.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Valasvatsa pushes down on Douglas's leg and manages to get into half guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Valasvatsa is working for a submission of some sort.
Valasvatsa is looking for a kimura but Douglas is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Valasvatsa to get the leverage. Douglas looking for a kimura from the bottom but Valasvatsa passes into side control! Valasvatsa is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Douglas is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Douglas is positioning himself to get back to half guard. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Chip Douglas will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action!

and Douglas counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Douglas blocks a body shot from Valasvatsa. Valasvatsa tries to work over Douglas's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Valasvatsa is struggling to control the position. Douglas jumps guard but Valasvatsa stands there with Douglas around his waist. Douglas gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Both guys are working to get underhooks. Valasvatsa throws a head punch that misses. Valasvatsa tries to work over Douglas's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. That's one minute gone in the round. Valasvatsa utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Douglas is looking to work some ground and pound but Valasvatsa has wrist control. Chip Douglas overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Douglas is looking to stand up but Valasvatsa won't let him. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Douglas accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Valasvatsa wants to sweep here but Douglas controlling him for the moment. Douglas stands and throws Valasvatsa's legs to the side, diving into side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Valasvatsa tries to buck Douglas off but Douglas is having none of it. Douglas tries for a kimura but Valasvatsa is defending well. Valasvatsa sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Valasvatsa makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Valasvatsa. Valasvatsa is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Douglas is aware though and is defending well. Douglas cracks Valasvatsa with a solid left hand.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Douglas postures up in Valasvatsa's guard and throws a big left but Valasvatsa blocks it. Douglas drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Valasvatsa dives on top into guard. Valasvatsa passes Douglas's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Valasvatsa seems to be working for a kimura but Douglas defends the submission attempt. Douglas looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Douglas looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Douglas flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Douglas wants to improve his position but Valasvatsa is controlling well.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Valasvatsa is looking to take a break and control but Douglas is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Valasvatsa has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Douglas defend it? Valasvatsa steps over the head and cranks it - Douglas is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Valasvatsa!
