Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Avon Stringer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Malham (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stringer comes to the cage accompanied by The Loner. Malham has chosen John's Walkout as his entrance music. On his way into the cage it seems that Avon Stringer has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Avon Stringer seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

21 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, John Malham! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stringer throws a wild body kick that Malham sees coming a mile off. Malham is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Stringer throws a leg kick and Malham counters with a single leg into guard. Stringer didn't expect that. Stringer working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Malham. Malham throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Stringer works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Malham trying to control the position from guard on top but Stringer is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Malham has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Malham throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. That's one minute gone in the round. Malham lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Malham tries to pass to full mount but Stringer defends it. Malham is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Stringer still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Stringer has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work! Malham manages to work his way to half guard, despite Stringer's best efforts. Malham is looking for a sweep. Stringer is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. That's two minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Malham manages to get to full guard.
Stringer scores with a decent looking elbow strike. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Stringer avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Malham is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Malham has his foot on Stringer's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Stringer works his way back into a safe position though. Stringer postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Stringer pushes down on Malham's leg and manages to get into half guard. Stringer stalling away here and it's allowed Malham to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Malham has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Stringer can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Stringer might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Stringer makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Stringer trying to control the position from guard on top but Malham is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Malham looking for a guillotine here but Stringer defends easily.

Stringer got a little sloppy there for a moment and Malham has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Stringer has managed to get both his arms back between Malham's legs - danger averted. Malham working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Stringer. Stringer wants to pass the guard but Malham is keeping the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Malham is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Stringer has his hands clasped together but Malham extends an breaks Stringer's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Malham.
