The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Borgir closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Borgir wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Bain, who protects the arm well.
Borgir will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Borgir is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Bain knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Borgir is trying to get an arm triangle but Bain is defending well.
Borgir working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Borgir is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Bain is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Bain can do anything to dispel that myth.

Borgir is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Bain has escaped the position, nice work there.
Borgir goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Bain rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Borgir's guard! Nice work there by Bain!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Borgir is looking for a sweep. Bain is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Borgir looking for a guillotine here but Bain defends easily.
Bain wants to pass the guard but Borgir is keeping the position.

Bain wants to get up but he can't break Borgir's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Borgir is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Bain is aware though and is defending well.
Borgir keeping moving, preventing Bain from controlling successfully.
Bain might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Borgir haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Borgir is looking to sinch up a triangle. Bain throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Borgir's body to avoid the submission. Borgir has instead reached around Bain's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Borgir arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
