Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jay Bleezy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hector Pelano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Pelano's choice of entrance music: I Wanna Be Somebody by WASP. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jay Bleezy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Hector Pelano!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Paul Gruel and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pelano fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Bleezy feints and as Pelano raises his hands in defense, Bleezy changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Bleezy slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Hector Pelano hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Pelano uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Bleezy.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Jay Bleezy dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Bleezy changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Pelano tries to avoid it but Bleezy manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Pelano to the ground. Pelano escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Pelano lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Bleezy circles away quickly and effectively.
Pelano throws a head kick that misses.

Hector Pelano is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Pelano has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Pelano there as he acknowledges the shot.
Bleezy throws a looping overhand right but Pelano ducks down to avoid it.
Pelano keeps Bleezy at a distance using the push kick.
Pelano looks to land a combination but Bleezy avoids it well.
Pelano throws a nice looking combination but Bleezy bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Bleezy closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Pelano did well to prevent Bleezy getting side control.
Bleezy not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Bleezy has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Pelano is refusing to be controlled, as Bleezy sits in half guard.
Bleezy seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Pelano wants to control but Bleezy is keeping busy.

Bleezy is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Bleezy is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Pelano is just riding it out for now. Bleezy eventually gives up the hold.

Bleezy wants to lay and pray for a moment but Pelano keeps working.
Pelano wants to control but Bleezy is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Pelano is looking to control Bleezy's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Pelano avoid being mounted?
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Pelano throws a hook to the side of Bleezy's head but Bleezy sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Bleezy just misses with a punch to the body.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Pelano thuds his right hand into Bleezy's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Pelano takes one to the side of the head.
A punch lands to the side of Pelano 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Pelano uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Bleezy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jay Bleezy dominated that second round.
That's time! Bleezy's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Bleezy shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Bleezy showed some decent athleticism there.

Bleezy is working for a submission of some sort.

Bleezy slips a nice elbow through Pelano's hands, connecting with Pelano's forehead.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Bleezy wants to take a breather but Pelano is having none of it.

Bleezy drops an elbow to the side of Pelano's head.
Pelano is not content to let Bleezy control the position.
Hector Pelano has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Bleezy wants to pass the guard but Pelano is defending well.
Bleezy takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Bleezy, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
