Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 12 - 0, fighting out of London, Jong Bak!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Konsta Pylkkanen!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Richard Clark and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

A jab-cross combination lands for Bak and sends Pylkkanen crashing to the mat! Bak follows him down to the mat - Pylkkanen regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!


It looks like Konsta Pylkkanen has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Bak is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Pylkkanen sees it coming and defends easily.

Bak is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Bak jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Pylkkanen is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Pylkkanen and Bak has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Bak goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Pylkkanen has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Bak but great work by Pylkkanen.

Pylkkanen wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Bak, who protects the arm well.
Bak is trying to control Pylkkanen's posture but Pylkkanen avoids it.
Pylkkanen tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Bak tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Pylkkanen wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Pylkkanen wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Bak, who protects the arm well.
Pylkkanen tries to move into full mount but can't pass Bak's legs.
Bak manages to work his way to half guard, despite Pylkkanen's best efforts.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Pylkkanen is trying to work for a kimura but Bak is defending well.
Bak wants to improve his position but Pylkkanen is controlling well.

Bak is pressing down on Pylkkanen's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Pylkkanen postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Bak working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Pylkkanen doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Pylkkanen manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Bak looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Bak is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Bak has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Pylkkanen should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Bak has tightened it up now! Pylkkanen should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Jong Bak!
Post fight, an emotional Jong Bak said 'Aaarrrgggghhhhh!!! I knew I could take this guy out. He's a great striker but I knew I had to avoid his shots and get in quickly to take him down. Once we were on the floor there is only one outcome and that's him tapping out.'.
