Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Virgil Hunter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Albert Laurent (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hunter comes to the cage accompanied by Welcome to the Jungle. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hunter darts in trying to clinch and Laurent moves into the clinch. Laurent jumps into guard, dragging Hunter to the mat.
Hunter wants to control from the top but Laurent keeps moving. Hunter wants to pass the guard but Laurent is keeping the position. Hunter is working hard here to advance position. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Laurent holds on and takes a little breather. Laurent keeping moving, preventing Hunter from controlling successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round.
We're going to have a standup here because Virgil Hunter wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Hunter rushes Laurent and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. The referee calls for Laurent to work.
Laurent lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Hunter backwards. Laurent pressing his opponent against the cage. An uppercut to the body lands inside from Laurent. Laurent is trying to trip Hunter. He has hold of a leg but Hunter is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Laurent persists though and gets the takedown into guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Laurent's corner is telling him to maintain position. Laurent tries to stand but Hunter is controlling from the bottom. Laurent keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Hunter's head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Laurent has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Hunter is proving hard to escape from. Laurent controls from within his opponent's guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Laurent's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Albert Laurent. Hunter fails with an attempt to clinch.
Laurent throws a head kick that misses. Hunter pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Laurent.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hunter tries to improve position but can't. Laurent moves into full mount! Hunter working to try and regain half guard.
Laurent tries to stand up but he's trapped just for the moment. Laurent tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Laurent lands a nice shot to the head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Laurent is trying to stand up but he's being controlled by his opponent. Hunter is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Laurent lands a heavy elbow. Laurent controlling from the full mount. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Laurent lands with some strikes. Laurent working the ground and pound effectively.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Albert Laurent dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Hunter throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Laurent stuffs the takedown attempt from Hunter. Hunter gets slowly back to his feet. Laurent stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Hunter. Hunter fails to land the takedown. Laurent throws a leg kick that misses. Hunter shoots in but Laurent avoids the takedown attempt easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Virgil Hunter. That's going to take a lot out of him. Hunter fails to land the takedown. Laurent shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Hunter is trying to defend but Laurent finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Hunter is in trouble now - Laurent has advanced to mount!
That's one minute gone in the round. Laurent cracks Hunter with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Laurent controlling his opponent. Hunter tries to control the position but Laurent now has his back.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Laurent patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here? Laurent is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
Laurent landing with strikes. A bit of a pause in the action here. Laurent controlling the positon. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! You can see the frustration on Hunter's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Laurent is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
Hunter is in bad spot here.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Laurent scores with punches and elbows. Laurent keeps control of the position easily here as Hunter tries to buck him off.
Laurent is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Hunter has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Laurent has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Hunter's body.
Laurent is punishing Hunter with strikes - can he finish him?! Laurent really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Hunter. This has been an exciting period of action! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Albert Laurent showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. And we move into the final round!
The fight stays on the outside here - Hunter looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Laurent misses the shot to the body. A looping hook to the body misses from Laurent. Hunter does a little dance to reset his feet. Laurent drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Hunter is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Laurent not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Laurent drops back looking for a leg! Hunter is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Hunter manages to kick Laurent off! Laurent jumps back into Hunter's guard. Laurent has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Hunter trying to keep a closed guard but Laurent is proving a slippery customer.
That's one minute gone in the round. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Laurent is working Hunter over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Hunter is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Hunter looking to control.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Laurent keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Hunter's head. Hunter trying to control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Laurent passes easily into side control. Nice work. Hunter takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Laurent decides to take the fight back to the feet. Laurent throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Hunter was covering up waiting for the punch and Laurent finishes the takedown easily into guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Hunter can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Laurent controls the pace. Laurent has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Laurent's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Laurent is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Laurent slips nicely into half guard. Laurent is looking for a kimura here.
Laurent is looking for a kimura but Hunter is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Laurent to get the leverage. Laurent is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Laurent wants to free his trapped foot but Hunter is holding on for dear life with his legs. Hunter is trying to stand back up but Laurent is controlling him
Laurent is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Albert Laurent has got the better of the ground game so far. Laurent is taking a breather. Hunter says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Virgil Hunter has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Albert Laurent is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Let's hope that Laurent has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
And that's the end of the fight! Albert Laurent comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Laurent winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
