Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Rick Hunter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Junior Marijuano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rick Hunter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Junior Marijuano!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Damien Edna and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hunter feints and as Marijuano raises his hands in defense, Hunter changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Hunter got a little sloppy there for a moment and Marijuano has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hunter has managed to get both his arms back between Marijuano's legs - danger averted.
Hunter wants to stand but Marijuano has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Marijuano looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Hunter won't allow Marijuano to sweep him here.

Hunter wants to get up but he can't break Marijuano's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Hunter shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Marijuano manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Hunter fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Marijuano, pushing him back against the cage.
Hunter has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Marijuano clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Marijuano tries to keep at a distance but Hunter has taken the fight into the clinch.

Marijuano throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hunter lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Hunter gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Hunter moves into range and clinches up with Marijuano.

Marijuano will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Hunter up against the cage.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Rick Hunter.
Well Hunter has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
