Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between John John (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Boris Garcia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Garcia is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Essentials Feat J2K & Dynasty - "State Your Name". Boris Garcia will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, John John! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Boris Garcia! The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Felipe Paraventi and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Garcia will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. John forces Garcia back against the ropes and clinches. Garcia goes for a takedown attempt but John pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Boris Garcia seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. John tries for a takedown but Garcia circles away easily and Garcia counters with a nice double leg into side control. John won't be happy with that. John is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. John has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Garcia is working away from the top position though. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. John tries to get to full guard but Garcia has control of the leg. Garcia is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. John doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Garcia. Garcia is looking for a kimura here.
John wants to improve his position but Garcia is controlling well.
That's one minute gone in the round. John actively working from the bottom here. John might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. John trying to hold on to Garcia's head to control him but Garcia postures up.
Garcia seems to be working for a kimura but John defends the submission attempt.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Garcia shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Garcia showed some decent athleticism there. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Garcia looks gassed! John trying to control from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Garcia prevents John from improving his position. John looking for submissions off his back. Garcia is trying to work for a kimura but John is defending well.
John is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. John is working hard here to advance position. Garcia is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so John is just riding it out for now. Garcia eventually gives up the hold.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Nice takedown defense from Garcia. No joy for John on that attempt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. John fails with an attempt to clinch.
John with a lazy takedown attempt and Garcia counters with a shoot takedown. John fights it but they end up in guard. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John John. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's four minutes gone in the round. John has his foot on Garcia's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Garcia works his way back into a safe position though. Garcia trying to control the position from guard on top but John is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. John keeping full guard, as Garcia tries to pass. Garcia postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! John is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Garcia, into his guard. John working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Garcia's head. Garcia escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. John gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Garcia is looking for a triangle but John pushes his legs off easily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage! Garcia is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Boris Garcia dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Garcia misses with a takedown and John counters with a nice double leg into side control. Garcia won't be happy with that. Garcia is trying to improve his position. Garcia prevents John from moving into mount. John lands a nice forearm strike. Garcia regains half guard. Garcia wants to control but John is keeping busy and won't allow it. Garcia makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Garcia. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. John wants to pass the guard but Garcia is keeping the position. John chips away with some ground and pound. Garcia wants to sweep but no luck.
That's one minute gone in the round. Garcia is looking for a triangle but John pushes his legs off easily.

Oh, that's bad for Garcia! Garcia gets back to half guard. Garcia works his way to full guard. Good work. Garcia escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. John gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. John has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Garcia manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Garcia has control of John's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and John regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Garcia trying to control but he's not successful this time. Garcia stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet. Garcia shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and John counters with a nice double leg into guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. John stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Garcia swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. John has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Garcia to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! John is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Garcia pulls down on the head and he's put John to sleep! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:20 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Boris Garcia!
