Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mauricio Cabral (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ricardo Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mauricio Cabral has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mauricio Cabral!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ricardo Silva!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Daniel Cesar and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cabral shoots in and drives through. Silva sprawls well.
Horrible takedown by Silva or perhaps it was just good defense by Cabral which made him look bad.
Silva tries for a takedown but Cabral sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

and Cabral counters with a nice double leg into side control. Silva won't be happy with that.

Silva's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Cabral has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

A telegraphed right hand from Cabral misses the target.
Silva circles away from the clinch attempt.
Cabral throws a head kick that misses.
Silva tries to score a power double leg takedown but Cabral sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Silva somewhat.
Cabral shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Silva sprawls well. Silva wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Cabral gets slowly back to his feet.
Silva shoots in looking for a takedown. Cabral tries to sprawl out of it but Silva keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Cabral manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Silva.

Silva had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Cabral defends it easily.

Silva is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Cabral.

What can Silva do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

Cabral is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Silva defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Cabral working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.
Cabral lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.

Cabral is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Silva can do to turn this around?

Cabral has the hooks in and he's looking for a rear naked choke here. Silva is defending well but eventually Cabral manages to get an arm under the chin and he's locked on the RNC! Silva has no choice but to tap now! He does! This one is all over!
