Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kirk Lazarus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nicolas Refn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lazarus's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Last Resort. Nicolas Refn is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Refn moves into range and clinches up with Lazarus.
Refn lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Refn swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Refn escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Refn shoots in but Lazarus avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Lazarus closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Lazarus lands in his opponent's guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Lazarus wants to control from the top but Refn keeps moving.

Lazarus drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Refn manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Lazarus has Refn in his guard.
Lazarus has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Refn lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Refn postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Refn seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Lazarus misses with a double jab.
Lazarus lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

and Refn counters by clinching up.

Refn breaks the clinch.
Lazarus lands a lovely overhand right.
Refn shoots in for a takedown but Lazarus shows good takedown defense.
Lazarus lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

Refn is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Lazarus swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Refn is still on wobbly legs! Can Lazarus finish him?
Refn gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Lazarus gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Refn is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!
