Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Anderson Silver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Julio Acosta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Julio Acosta acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Anderson Silver! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Julio Acosta! The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Felipe Paraventi and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Silver fails with a takedown attempt. Acosta looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Silver shoots in looking for a takedown but Acosta manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Silver's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Acosta closes the distance and clinches. Acosta wants to break free but Silver has control.
Silver pulls guard. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Acosta is looking to stand up but Silver won't let him. Silver trying to keep a closed guard but Acosta is proving a slippery customer.

Acosta being controlled here momentarily. Silver is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
That's one minute gone in the round. Silver trying to keep a closed guard but Acosta is proving a slippery customer.
Silver has a closed guard, preventing Acosta from standing up. Silver is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Acosta defends well. Silver has his foot on Acosta's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Acosta works his way back into a safe position though. Silver uses the cage to get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Silver gets the takedown into side control. Silver tries to move into full mount but can't pass Acosta's legs. Silver lands a decent elbow from side control. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Silver trying to control the action but Acosta is working from the bottom. Acosta prevents Silver from improving position. Silver stands up and beckons Acosta to his feet. Silver has Acosta up against the cage in a clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Silver wants a takedown but no success here.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Anderson Silver. That's going to take a lot out of him. Acosta has had enough of the clinch but Silver keeps him there for the moment. Silver keeps control of Acosta as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Silver tries to throw a body punch but Acosta avoids it by throwing Silver back against the cage. Silver decides to pull guard. Silver is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Silver is working for a kimura but Acosta is defending it quite comfortably.
Silver takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Acosta is refusing to be controlled, as Silver sits in half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Silver is taking a breather. Acosta says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Silver is trying to work for a kimura but Acosta is defending well.
Silver works his way into full mount! Acosta is desperately trying to improve his position but Silver has a good base and remains in mount. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Acosta is in a horrible position here. Silver smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Anderson Silver dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Silver looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Silver scores with a head kick. Acosta tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time. Silver connects with a high kick. Horrible takedown by Acosta or perhaps it was just good defense by Silver which made him look bad. Silver wants to clinch. Julio Acosta seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Acosta keeps the fight on the outside. Silver misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Acosta is breathing heavily. Silver closes the distance and clinches. Silver escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
That's one minute gone in the round. Silver fails with a takedown attempt. Silver is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Silver shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Acosta sprawls well. Acosta wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Silver gets slowly back to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Anderson Silver. That's going to take a lot out of him. Silver tries to clinch but Acosta is having none of it. Acosta slaps away a takedown attempt from Silver, before circling back to the center of the mat. Silver closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Acosta to the mat! Acosta manages to get full guard. Silver stands and throws Acosta's legs to the side, diving into side control. Acosta tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Silver easily slips into full mount!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Silver controlling the position easily from mount. Silver avoids the attempt from Acosta to control. A nice elbow there by Silver. Acosta is in a horrible position here. Silver smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Silver cracks Acosta with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Silver landing punches. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Silver tries to control but Acosta wriggling away. Silver working for a guillotine from mount but Acosta is in no mood to give up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Silver postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Acosta looks a forlorn figure.
Silver with the ground and pound from mount. Acosta is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Silver locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Acosta is forced to tap!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:43 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Anderson Silver!
