Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Junior Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frankie Garcilazo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Frankie Garcilazo! The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Alexandre Firmino and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Garcilazo moves into the clinch. Silva blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Garcilazo misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Silva.

Frankie Garcilazo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Garcilazo slips a jab from Silva. Garcilazo is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Garcilazo avoids a punch combination nicely.

Silva swats away the attempt to clinch by Garcilazo. Garcilazo tries to close the distance and clinch but Silva swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Garcilazo tries to clinch but Silva is having none of it. Silva fails to land the takedown. Garcilazo shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Silva sprawls well. Silva wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Garcilazo gets slowly back to his feet. Junior Silva is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Silva is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Garcilazo's half guard. Silva thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Garcilazo keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Silva has decided to stand back up but his arm is trapped. Whilst he's worrying about his arm, Garcilazo works to full guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Silva stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Garcilazo swivels though and keeps the full guard. Silva wants to control from the top but Garcilazo keeps moving. Silva postures up in Garcilazo's guard and throws a big left but Garcilazo blocks it. Garcilazo trying to control the position.
Silva is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Junior Silva wasn't doing enough on the ground. Silva listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Garcilazo tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Silva manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Garcilazo tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Silva gets a takedown into half guard. Silva seems to be working for a kimura but Garcilazo defends the submission attempt. Silva is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Silva is looking to pass Garcilazo's guard but actually Garcilazo recovers to full guard. Silva trying to control but Garcilazo is working from the bottom. Silva is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Garcilazo keeping full guard, as Silva tries to pass. Garcilazo is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Silva stands and steps away. Garcilazo gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Garcilazo is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Silva is controlling him. Silva engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Junior Silva. Garcilazo is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Garcilazo shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Silva pinned against the cage. Silva gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Silva drives through with a takedown into guard. Silva drops back, looking for a kneebar! Garcilazo looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Garcilazo looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Garcilazo! Silva is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Silva on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Silva tries to get out of the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Silva looks to move to half guard but instead Garcilazo has passed into mount! Damn! Silva looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back! Silva breaks Garcilazo's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Silva slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Junior Silva has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Silva fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Garcilazo avoids it really well and circles away. Garcilazo drives through and clinches with Silva against the cage.
