Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kevin Trout! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Brandon Anderson! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Anderson wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Anderson swinging wildly here.
Anderson misses with a double jab.
Trout shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Anderson as he avoids it easily. Left hook, right uppercut from Anderson. Anderson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Anderson defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Trout. Trout takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Anderson lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Trout backs up against the cage.
A combination from Anderson does no damage. Kevin Trout seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. The fight moves into the clinch position. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Trout has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Anderson uses from the top position. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Trout looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Anderson looking to sit in guard and control but Trout gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
That's one minute gone in the round. Anderson looking to control but Trout passes into half guard.
Trout wants to work for an arm triangle but Anderson is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Anderson is refusing to be controlled, as Trout sits in half guard. Anderson is looking for a sweep. Trout is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Trout is controlling the pace.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Trout is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Anderson has managed to free his arm - good work. Anderson is trying to stand up here but Trout is controlling him well. Trout stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Anderson to get to his feet. Trout shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Trout was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Trout wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Anderson, who protects the arm well. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! You can see the frustration on Anderson's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Trout is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Anderson has escaped the position, nice work there. Anderson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Trout. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Trout looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Trout staying calm. Anderson wants to improve his position, back to half guard but Trout has ideas of his own. He's got hold of Anderson's far side arm and it looks like he's got an Americana. Ohh! Ohhhh! OOOOOOOOOH! A human being's arm is not meant to bend like that! Anderson is tapping like a morse code operator on the Titanic! SOS SOS! He's out of here! Great win for Trout!
